Pioneer Kleen Kutter KS706

Post by Grausig13 »

I acquired what a friend suggests is very similar to the WWII styled US Army knife, but marked Pioneer on the handle, and KS706 and Kleen Kutter on the ricasso. I cannot find this referenced online, and have no luck joining a Kleen Kutter group on facebook.

Best available photos--hope this does the trick. Apologies if this is in the wrong spot. New to the group, and will be actively looking for some info on 1910's era folding knives from Germany.

Many Thanks for any leads--even to a list of KS codes would be helpful!

Do you mean Keen Kutter? The knife appears to be a Schrade Cut Co. Era made scout knife.

Appears to be a Schrade made Keen Kutter camper. I can't find the pattern number KS706 in Sellens' book, however, it's not really unusual to find a pattern number not listed from the later years. This knife is post WWII in my opinion maybe '50's?

Here's a couple Schrade Cut Co.scouts for comparison. The camper deluxe one has a fancier shield and worked liner. The scout is basicly the same as the op knife except for the stamping and printing on shield.
The camper deluxe may be a war year knife and later than the scout. It has regular pull on the master blade and steel liners.
