3 Tang stamps, one knife

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

3 Tang stamps, one knife

Post by BywayofWV »

Had this one in my collection for a while now. Using Goins I'm assuming c1915 but the nail file has a curved Camillus with a solid line underneath not the line dot line?? So I got a 3 line marking, a curved Camillus line dot line, and a curved Camillus with solid line. Any theories

.....BWOWV, I've got a bone handled sleeveboard whittler that has the nail file like that, and it has 3 different stamps, also. I've never been able to get an answer on it, either, so I just go with Goin's-1902-1915!!................ ::tu:: ..........

I just saw this topic, remind me TJ to post some pics of my newest old Camillus, IIRC, it is the earliest tang stamp I have.
It needs some work, but its pretty early, well before WW I.
