Help please with United Boker

Post by roth »

I am trying to find out some history as well as to when a certain knife I have was made. It is a united Boker trapper style knife, limited edition law enforcement comm. knife. Box looks old but cant find a date. I have tried the library but cant find anything on united boker in Goins or Levines books. Thought maybe some one here may help.
Thank you for your time.

Hi roth. Warm ::welcome:: to the site. I believe that the United Bokers were made sometime around the mid 1980s. Perhaps shortly after Boker USA discontinued its production in NC in 1984 and the name was bought back by H Boker of Solingen. Boker USA was revived in Colorado 1986 as the US importer of Boker knives. I believe United Cutlery was based in Tennessee. Hopefully, someone else will wade in. Please show a pic of your knife if possible. :) s-k

Hi Roth, warm welcome to the site !

My fuzzy ole brain wants to remember that United got cranked up in 1985, or '86 at the latest. They had a looooong string of commemrative knives - they'd commemrate cops, trains, firemen, stockcar drivers, etc.

Good knives, but not so expensive, you'd hesitate to put it in your pocket.

Stick around here, and you'll get the bug to get some !

If I remember correctly United Boker was used soon after Boker Germany bought Boker USA.The firms were separated during WW1
