Empire Knife Company - old or new

This item on eBay looks legit to me (item # 190175555548), but I would like to hear peoples' opinion on the seller's claim that the knife was constructed from old stock. It certainly isn't the German reproduction knife.

I remember seeing an exact duplicate of this knife on eBay last year, but that knife certainly looked old and worn. Thanks.

it has been cleaned, you can tell by the blade finish and the lack of a choil. maybe an old knife, but it's been cleaned up either way.

it's what the seller says. made from parts. old parts ... new parts... well it's a crap shoot. i wouldn't do it. just my opinion.

New or at least recent I have seen this same knife with other tang stamps. These are also in different patterns but you can tell they are made the same place. I once saw a roll of these stamped NYK Co. that was said to be a salesman sample roll all phony. Bone on them is all alike. Good looking knives but not the real deal.

I have a knife in my collection with that exact front bolster stamped,"Edward K.Tryon Company" and I know it is old.Probably exactly what the seller claims:assembled from old parts.Sort of like a Shelby Continuation Cobra but worth less.

I asked the seller about a knife marked Wilbert that was essentially identical to this one and he told me that the parts came out of the old Ulster factory.

I personally have seen quite a few, virtually identical to this one, with many different marks, including one I own marked Utica. Pretty high quality but not, in my opinion, authentic.

The knife is at $70.00 and five days left very cheap for a real Empire, very high for who knows what! I have also seen the Wilberts, and like I posted earlier others. These knives were made to decieve, that is why they are in these very collectable names.
