... interesting as most from that company had American Knife Co Winsted as the stamp and not just American Winsted... does that knife have iron liners? Maybe its early on in that company history given the stamp...

And just as an aside to some of the comments above on American Knife Companies - American Knife Thomaston as noted above was previously American Knife Co Plymouth prior to the town changing names in 1875 - just to make things even more confusing

.... and there was yet another American Knife Co around the 1970s that was a Japanese/German import using Cole National Corp as a trademark - out of Cleveland I think - and nowhere as collectable as the other American Knife Co knives noted above....
