Went to a local gun show yesterday and while they didn't have many Case knives I was able to pick up a 3 nice older red bone knives.

The trapper also is quite beautiful.

Thanks. I have never been much of a collector. I have always bought Case knives and have quite a few now but never collected as a real collector. A few years ago I bought a 3 tier store display from a hardware store going out of business and that started me really collecting trying to fill that display up. Now I'm getting into the older ones as well. Just got the Collecting Case knives to learn more.

The trapper you have is a 1965-69, highly desirable. A great start for any collection. It's in excellent condition too.

I usually just buy what I like and can afford. I have several old ones that are mostly ones passed down but love the look of the older ones myself.

Have tons of newer ones though. 90s-now.

I think you hit the nail on the head when it come to knife accumulating. Buy what you like and can afford.

What I like may not float your boat and vice a versa. But I derive great pleasure out of my old HOK's.

I like yours too. Those are some real nice examples. I've always been drawn to old knives like your stockman there with its honest wear. I wonder the stories it could tell and where it's been. Those are my kind of knives. Ya done good.

Thanks. The ole saying "If only it could talk" is something I think of. I have some of my grandfather's knives that have been sharpened and/or broken and I always think to myself..... Wonder what in the world he used it for. They were truly tools back then and some of my ugliest knives are my favorite because they were loved by someone and used like crazy.
