Here are some vintage Barlows I have accumulated

Nice display. I ponder that these were once made for the common man, intriguing. It's stature among patterns has raised, it is no longer a bar...low.

Dale, here are a couple pics of some Craftsman Barlows I have with an Ulster 10OT, I always assumed that the Craftsman were made by Ulster but then again weren't Schrade and Ulster the same when these knives were made?
The Craftsman Barlows had at least 2 bolster stamps, Craftsman and Old Crafty.

Here are a few other Barlows, The Case Tested and Appaloosa are newly acquired, the redbone is my EDC. A pair of Ka-Bar Barlows with an old Camillus Tip Top.

You are correct, the Ulster Old Timer Barlow (10OT) was made about 1964 to 1970 according to the catalogs and the Craftsman would date to the same era.

The Schrade Cut Co Barlow and the Keen Kutter are listed in my picture with the Schrade/Ulster knives because they are part of the history of Schrade/Ulster.

You have some nice Barlows there John.

Fine looking barlows one of my favorites. I wish they would make'em the 3.75" to 4" range as the 3.25" is a hair small an the grandaddy is a hair big imo.

The Barlow is my favorite pattern.

Here are a few recent Barlow finds. The bolsters speak for themselves, but the Bridge is a Shapleigh Hardware probably made by Utica. Lloyd

A few recent pick ups, Boker, Case Tested, Simmons, and a Shapleigh . All are in very nice condition with great bone.

When you look at these beautiful old knives and the beautiful bone handles, it is hard to remember that a Barlow was originally an inexpensive working man's knife!

Damn right they were a workingmans knife I found more of my old journeyman in the trade used barlows more than a so called electricians knife AKA TL-29

Here are three Schrade Cut Co Barlows. These are obviously used folders but the F & F is really nice on these folders which are at least 70 years old or older. They are just well made and the craftsmanship is simply superb. Lloyd

Never been a fan of the barlow, but this thread peaked my interest in this time tested pattern. I found this one recently - like it alot ... glad I took the barlow plunge (somehow, I don't think this will be the last one) ...
