Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

That's a real beauty Greg! Jerry has some fine knives.

Here's one I fished out of the bay last week, arrived a couple days ago. Tested XX 06267. One of my favorite patterns by Case - never understood why they discontinued it. Apparently just didn't sell well enough. ::shrug::

This one has never been sharpened or carried but has some pepper spots on blades and tarnish on bolsters. Guessing it laid around in a drawer somewhere for many years. Haven't tried to clean it up yet. Pictures don't show it but the handles are beautiful green bone. Shield is an excellent example of the less common "Tested block shield".

Also posting below it pictures of its younger brother, the Case XX version which I've had for many years. Note the differences in blade grind (Tested version has swedged pen blade, XX does not), jigging, and shield styles.

That is such a neat little old knife, Ken. Good catch. I learned just now about the "block Shield". ::tu:: Thank you.
I hope to recognize that shield again.

Great knives Ken. I'm with you on that. Why would they discontinue such a beautiful knife? ::shrug:: Those long pulls and swedges really get my motor running.

Nice knives Gents.

Love the 94. I'm with you guys on the 67 pattern. Best pen pattern CASE ever made in my opinion. Beautiful knife Ken. I only have one but it's a real beauty that I'll never let go of.

Greg that's a really nice classic cigar congrats! Just gorgeous.

That is a beautiful pen Ken. The bone and blade swedge just look right together. Its interesting to me that the swedge was cut differently to account for the long pull compared to the pile side.

Thanks for the compliments on the 67 guys. I'm gonna try to get some better pictures of the green bone handles. For whatever reason, the color just doesn't photograph right with indoor lighting so will have to try some pictures outside to see if that will do it.

Wow what a sweeet knife.

Greg, that is a great looking copperhead, one of my favorite patterns. What do you do when there are too many choices and limited funding? 31's or 49's or 99's or......

Aahh! The age old question Steve. Sometimes I go ahead and ger one and then boom the next day one I have really been wanting pops up and I can't get it. One good ting about knife collecting though another one usually comes along when you are refunded.
