Question concerning knife pricing

I have two Case knives that several people are interested in.
One is a Case Trapper, model # 3254, yellow handle, Carolina Bright Leaf tobacco edition number 006 of 100. 1986 stamped on the blade
under a picture of a tobacco leaf.
Never carried, never sharpened, no box, brand new.

Second one is a Case Trapper Bright Leaf Hoedown Millennium commerorative 2000 wooden handle with 115 stamped on the bolster.
Never carried, never sharpened, brand new with box.

I was wondering if some of you could suggest an asking price for these two knives? What are they worth?

Since no one has responded to your question so far, I'll first of all say welcome to AAPK!

Since I don't collect newer (post-1980) Case knives I'm not the best person to answer, but I'd guess they are currently worth about $70 to $80 each. In most cases commemoratives don't really bring a premium, unless you can find a buyer that has a sentimental attraction to whatever the knife is commemorating. Since you have someone interested, maybe they have that sentimental attraction. You might see if they'll make an offer. If it's higher than what I suggested, so much the better for you.

Probably not what you wanted to read but it is what it is. Maybe someone else will come along and tell us both that I'm wrong - won't be the first time!

Welcome. One of the best ways to determine current knife value is to go to ebay and search for a knife like yours that has actually sold. This method is free and only takes a few minutes. There are fluctuations in the ebay sales depending on various factors, but it should get you in the ballpark of value you might expect. I don't see a knife like you describe that has sold. Here is another 3254 special edition knife with a serial number that actually sold. You can kind of disregard those crazy buy it now prices you see on completed items. If the price is green I think it indicates they sold ?
