My thoughts on celluloid

I have seen alot of talk lately on the boards about celulloid gassing problems. In my opinion, the only knives that have ever given me problems, are newer knives. I have numerous old remingtons, winchester, utica celulloids that have never gassed. This could be because they are so old, they are already stabalized, but this is just my two cents. Newer knives that have gassed on me alot, are the new winchesters, bulldogs, case, and boker.

You may have something mooseman, maybe not stabilized in the begining.

I've got a few vintage Remingtons that the celluoid handles have decomposed, usually ruining the blades and backsprings in the process. Even have a push button that would have been a nice knife but for the decomposing.
