Re: Vintage Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Knives
That's where I got that farmers whittler. I had seen it at the blade show and it matched the 2 stag ones I had.
I was sure hoping to get it.Never seen one before and within 3 or 4 months I had 3.
The 2 stag ones were gifts from Mike Losicco and John Lloyd. thanks again guys .

That Emberton collection was amazing. I looked at every knife in the auction, very impressive.

Re: Vintage Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Knives
Took a while to get some pictures of the pearl on the new Keen Kutter pen I picked up to go with the pearl bartenders knife I've had for a few years now, but these turned out pretty well.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Great pearly knives, redrider and smiling-knife. Redrider, I really like that Keen Kutter bartender's knife, Sellens says it was made between 1927 and 1934.

Re: Vintage Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Knives
Here is a Needham Brothers knife with the Repeat mark. I believe there is a Sheffield hidden by the bolster (can just see the start of the S?), but, I don't believe any country of origin on the stamp. The main blade is stamped with The Farington Steel Foundry. Searching the internet the only reference I could find to the Farington Steel Foundry is one from 1918 that says it was operated by Leyland Motors?

"STAR WARS"
This is what Mr. Chamblin named this knife. 3 3/4" frame has an integral ridge that runs from bolster to cap on both sides.
The light does not show the pearl well but you can still see it is a beautiful knife.

That Star Wars knife is unique for sure. Thanks for posting that, Joe!
Every knife posted posted is very nice, but I think that Redrider's bartender is pretty special too!

Re: Vintage Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Knives
Star Wars is one of the few knives i have that is not a traditional pattern. It's neat to have a knife designed completely in the artistic mind of the knife maker. The saber grind and long swage reminds me of a Jess Horn knife.
I have 2 or 3 other pearl knives from Mr. Chamblin. If i have not already posted pics of these, i will get them posted here.

Re: Vintage Mother Of Pearl (MOP) Knives
Two vintage German knives: Griffon & Wester Bros. My picture does not show it well but there is a crisp saber grind on the master blade. It is one of my most favorite knives.
