Oh, I hear ya Bill. It only takes me two or maybe three aisles before I stop seeing knife, knife, knife, knife, knife, knife, and start seeing knife.

Did well at the Janesville show. I picked up a custom by my favorite maker, Larry Hayes, a large 5 inch F.A.Koch & Co. NY in really nice condition, a well worn but still good Providence Cutlery 3 blade with pretty smooth bone scales and great swedges on all three blades, amd on the way to the show I picked up a Anton Wingen hawkbill.____Dave

Here's a Crucible Knife Co. NY. 1926 - 1929.
A well built equal end jack. Very strong springs, 1/2 stops X 2, great covers and swedges. 3 5/16".
Apparently made at least 86 years ago. Fine shape for that age.

One of my neighbors I've known since we were kids is retired and goes walking every day. Sometimes when I have time I stop along the road and chat. He collects Pal brand knives a has a small collection. I picked up a Pal last summer with a few other knives, just because it was only $4. It's a 3 3/8th inch jack with nice honey bone jigged scales, a match striker pull, in very good condition. It would just get lost in my collection and I don't particularity collect Pal knives so I threw it in a roll in my truck in case I saw him on the road this morning. I did and gave him the knife. He loved it and wanted to pay me for it. I said I paid almost nothing for it and just wanted him to have it. He said he would give me another knife in trade and I told him I wasn't hurting for knives and not to worry about it. A couple hours later he and his wife pulled in to where I was working and he handed me a H. Sears hawkbill he said he picked up in an antique shop for $6. It's stamped Prussia so it's pre 1915. I have about 300 hawkbills, but have never found a Sears Prussia. This one is awefully nice for it's age a snaps shut like a car trunk. Good neighbors aren't hard to come by in my neighborhood, but they still do surprise me sometimes. ____Dave

Good neighbors are great! Wish everyone could get along like that. Prussia has an interesting and colorful history. Do you know anything about the knife's origin?

No, my neighbor Lenny picked it up in an antique shop with no history I know of. We have all good neighbors although out here we don't have all that many. Most I have known for 50 or 60 years. I do carpenter work for "summer cabin" people from the 3 lakes within 3 miles of my home too so many of them have become good friends. I have a few Prussia knives and they sure made quality working knives. Too bad the wars messed them up so bad. ___Dave

Nice Gerber Scott....normally I shy away from the Gerbers, but that Gator handle material is some good stuff, really grippy, and I think the Gator line is made in the USA too if I am not mistaken....

Picked up this 'un at a flea last weekend. Case/TB saddlehorn.
Not crazy about the blade configuration. But it pockets great, and that bone is plum purty

Royal that's my kind of knife right there! Ain't nothing wrong with that blade lay out either. Is it CV or stainless?
