Lookie, Lookie what the mailman brought me!

Being the Jim Parker knife fan that I am, I've been waiting with great anticipation for my "new" stag handled Parker Bros. trapper to arrive.
I bought it off E-Bay from a well known seller who goes by the seller name of "Brettsknives".

Well, it arrived today! Man oh man....what a real honey! The stag in the photos on E-Bay doesn't even come within a mile of what it looks like in person. Nice fat stag, with wonderful burnt, dark "toasted marshmallow" color.

By the way, the posted photos are from E-Bay. The actual color is much different! Way nicer!
The snap was a little lazy....most likely from the final buffing at the factory, so I gave it the hot soapy water and dishwashing soap treatment, then flushed out the water with WD-40, then a drop or two of oil and SHEZAM! Walks and talks like my ex mother-in-law.

Hey Dew,great looking Parker!!

I have bought several knives from that same seller,he's got a really bad rep on Bladeforum but I have never had a problem with him..

I've never had a problem with Brettsknives, always fast shipping and the knives I've bought were exactly as described, never bought one with the WAY over used term of MINT = factory new.
But then again, I don't think much of Bladeforum either. Read it every couple weeks and never find what I need, to much trash talk to pick through.

They end up like the X Mother in time...

...Size wise too.

I just started buying Parker knives.
What I have is kool and alot of knife for the money.
Nice Stag on that one...

even close to the bolsters most are white there.

Hmmm..........I've bought several knives from in the past and he's always been a real straight shooter with me. I had one little bone handled razor trapper long ago that had little if no snap, so I sent it back and he was most cordial and apologetic about it.

Those guys on Blade Forum are, in my NOT SO HUMBLE opinion, for the most part a bunch of jerkoffs! Nothing but flaming and badmouthing each other like a bunch of drunk wannabe bikers around a makeshift campfire in the hills outside of Bakersfield!

I own several, mostly of the trapper and razor trapper variety and like them all. Most are made in Jacksonville, Alabama, but some are made in Japan. I honestly can't tell much difference in the quality of either.

If you get a chance, hows about posting some pics of them? I'd like to drool over them!

This is an old post, I know . . . but I just wanted to throw in a good word for the seller in question . . . brettsknives . . .

I bought a knife from him. I emailed him & asked him if the knife was mint; he said "no, it's not mint," but looks nice. I bought the knife, and guess what? It's in the condition that MOST ebay sellers would call MINT. Beautiful bone handles, never used or sharpened (as far as I can tell), clean shiny bolsters, nice snap . . . I'm very pleased.

Just my two cents worth.

I too have bought several knives from Brett and all of them have been better than he described them. I have always been happy with his knives.

at the risk of sounding like so many others, I too have bought several knives from Brett and have been most pleased with everything i've got from him. He makes sure he puts ever speck of anything in his descriptions and most don't take that kind of time. Then when you get it most of the time as jfarmer said when you get it, it will be in better shape than Brett has let on.
