Gartman Clasp knife
Looking for more info on this Gartman Clasp knife, Same size as the Case xx 72 pattern. I tried to take off the pitting at the nail mark left from fingerprint, but steel needs to be taken down and I won't and can't do that. Still a beauty. Very well built and heavy. Clean except the aforementioned.

M. D. Gartman was a maker from Gatesville TX. No longer with us. He used to make quite a few of the TX. shows.

Yeah, I found out he was from Gatesville, TX. area. This is a super knife! Very, very well built. Wish I could have found it sooner because had rusty fingerprints at the nail mark and at the run up. I got it smoothed out with simichrome polish and rubbed till my hand cramped. Still it has pitting at those two spots. Oh well I like it, gonna keep it. It almost has to be a one-of-a-kind.

What is the material between the handle and bolster, copper or fiber?

Not quite one of a kind I just found one of those in collection, came with a beauty of a leather pouch with a weave pattern that is quite pleasing. Mine looks to have a little tool mark on it from a buffer of some sort. IDK if that was Gartman or from time in collection
