Mitch, you've sure shown some nice knives in several posts in the last few days - that is a very nice Bulldog!

Ivoryman, I think it is the reverse curve shape of the standard Congress coupled with the high Sheepfoot blade in the closed position that makes the knife feel unstable in my hand. I don't have that feeling with a Half Congress, but then there is no closed Sheepfoot blade when the main Sheepfoot is open and in use.

I have Presidents day off today, so carrying this big Stockman around the house!

Old H, right on, that's the only thing I don't like about Stockmans. When the main clip is open, the sheep foot rides pretty high and you feel it with your fingers big time. I use the sheep foot mostly so that's not a problem, the main clip lays much lower. Can't really do that with two large sheep foots. Good to know, thanks for the tip.

Yes we are, FRJ! I just noticed that one. I guess it's considered a trapper model? Dwight Devine Ulster is all new to me got a few old Ulster knives but nothing as nice as that.

Treefarmer, I'm pretty new to Dwight Devine too. Got a few other Ulsters.
I think this knife could be called a sway back. Although I'm not 100% on that.
I wouldn't call it a trapper.
