Books & wood...

Found a couple of things I thought that ya'll might be able to use.
One is a 1974, 2nd edition," Romance of collecting Case knives". Not mint, but in good condition. You won't believe the prices on the knives in here.
Another is Bernard Levines, "Pocketknives". Lots of pictures of a lot of styles of pocketknives as well as a lot of interesting reading. Like new.
Last but not least, Oak wood, cut from a log about 30 years ago. It's not spalted, malted or pole-vaulted. It's not burled, squirreled or pearled, just plain old oak. It's a little under a half inch thick and you should be able to judge the other dimensions by comparing with the electricians knife.

I missed the books, (I have that book of Levine's already), and I have more oak than I can use in a reasonable time frame…..like the rest of my life. My son installs hardwood floors, so I get LOTS of neat scraps.

Thanks you for your sharing spirit. I think it is people like you and your generosity that makes AAPK stand head & shoulders above other forums.

1500 color photo of some of the nicest production and custom knives around. descriptions of knives and makers.

ok, to keep this book sharing thread going. i recently bought a pile of knife books. some duplicated a few in my library.

1. OFFICIAL GUIDE TO POCKET KNIVES by James F.parker and J. Bruce Voiles - 1976 -390 pgs.

prices are no good but the pictures and text are very educational.


third pm with the title and authors and it's yours.

2. PICTORIAL PRICE GUIDE ROMANCE OF COLLECTING CASE XX KNIVES by Mrs. Dewey P. (Lavona) Ferguson - 1976 - 208 pgs.

again, prices are no good but the text and pictures are great.

these books are great reference material for novice to expert. one book per winner.
