Vintage Smith and wesson fixed blade?

These are one of many vintage knifes out of my fathers collection I am trying to get some knowledge on. I can't seem to find anything on these two Smith and Wesson's though. The only thing i have come up with is that the are "Fishermen's"? Both of the sheaths are both Smith and Wesson and one is stamped 105 and 107 on the shorter one. Both of the knives seem to be relatively similar except for the overall length and the "107" being shorter. If anyone could give some feedback on the rarity and maybe if there is any value in them it would be greatly . Thank's Ya'll!

I don't know much about the knives, but I can recall seeing S&W straight knives in the blue S&W pistol boxes selling for moderately high dollar amounts a few years ago. They were designed by a noted custom knife maker, whose name escapes me at the moment.

I think the quality and appeal of the S&W knives devolved from that point forward.

I will say that those two don't look like the knives I remember.

Now that you mention it.....I do remember the blue boxes containing knives instead of pistols. My father had them everywhere. Not only was he an avid various blade collector (Case being his favorite) He had/I have now a beautiful gun collection. I guess either they are fairly rare or either not very collectible at all. I can't find anymore info on them. Thank you for your 2 cents, Charlie.

I'll have to go into my library of knife books but as I recall S&W had a noted knife designer(I believe it was Blackie Collins) assist in the design of the knives. There were initially 4 or 5 fixed blades and a single folder. They were priced almost as much as a custom knife of that period and I think that was a factor in the lack of popularity.
They expanded the line to include several other folders including a couple of variations of Ted Dowell's "funny" folder.
I have several of the folders(including two of the originals) and a customized Bowie with a one piece stag handle. The unusual thing about the bowie wasthat the blade was thick enough to stamp the S&W name on the top of the blade!

Can't find the article on the S&W knives but here are the pics of my one and only S&W fixed blade with a couple of their folders.
Not sure whether this came with the stag handle;I think it was done post-factory. It is dated 1977 in the logo on the right side of the blade and S&W is stamped on top of the spine to give you an idea of how thick the blade is.
The first and second folders are the model 6060. The second one is missing the shield and doesn't lock up well. I bought it used very cheaply.
The next one I have two of;the only difference being the color of the wood. Nice interframe but not very popular for some reason.
The last one is an all metal one that is near identical to a Rigid folder I have. Rigid may have made these for S&W when they were in Santee California.
I do have one of the "funny folders"(the clip blade version;not the dagger)but for some reason don't have a separate pic;just in a group.

Got this S&W sheath to add to the post, no knife, just a sheath I acquired some time ago. Looks like it would fit a 5 1/2" blade. If anyone needs one I would part with it. It has the S&W logo with the number 105 stamped on the back of the belt loop. Terry

The November Knife Magazine, the Edge Wise column is about Smith & Wesson knives. They show 2 fisherman's model 6040 & 6050.4500 made of each with a current market value of $75.They show a photo of one,maybe the same as yours.
