Found this one today at a yard sale. Amazed at the condition of it. Does anyone know if the blades are stainless? They appear to be stainless to me.

By the way 0078, The handles are Cocobolo.

That is a real beauty, I never new Catt. Made knives for klein. Far as stainless mine is carbon steel. Your knife has probably been tucked away in a good environment for several years.

That's a gorgeous lineman. Mine was handed down to me from my father & grandfather, who was a great amateur electrician among many other things. It's interesting, but appropriate perhaps that the brass liner lock is for the screwdriver/wire-stripping blade & not the cutting blade. Mine's liner lock is stamped "Patented July 3, 1906." The piece appears to be in between your two knives Re use & condition.
I'm not sure about these handles being Cocobolo. I thought that referred to the material (wood & adhesive) used on dark brown-handled Buck hunters. Or is Cocobolo also this older original dark brown wood or its color?

Yes, mine's definitely a keeper. Grandpa had just about every tool known to man in his man basement workshop. He didn't marry 'til he was in his 40s. Of what I have, there were several knives & unique tools & instruments in with some of the rougher tools in an ancient toolbox. It appears my Dad's Boy Scout knife was used on paint cans! It has fortunately paint on only one small spot on its main blade.
I've always viewed knives as special & collectible. My Coolest uncle on my Mom's side gave me his Imperial gravity trick knife (yellow cracked ice), but only after I figured out how to open it ... on my own, & I was a little guy.
I gave it to my nephew when he did the same

Thank you Ken. I've always appreciated the knowledge base of AAPK's members & experts on these pages when I referenced them in the past. Only recently have I researched properly some of my older knives. What was once arguably one of my nicest, newest-condition pocket knives I carried & used often when young - since it had little sentimental value - is a polished silver 2-bladed Ullman of Solingen, Germany. I even bent over the tip of the main blade! Youch.
