G'Day

Post by Brumbydownunder »

Hi Folks been sniffing around here for a month or two finally put my first post up in the restoration sub forum http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... 37&t=47302

My first post would have been here but after looking a couple of times I couldn't find the "Introductions" section (Was looking up the top not waaaay down here.)
I'm an ex KIWI now proud Australian living in Central NSW on hundred acres of scrub. Semi Retired after 30 odd years in Broadcasting
I have been a "shed" man since I was about 4 when I could reach the door handle on my Dad's shed/workshop just love working with my hands on all sort of projects usually involving wood.
Drifted into knives via hunting and now knives are by far the dominant interest/addiction. Pottered with a few old fixed blades, new handles, reshaping that sort of stuff, then made a couple of hunting knives from and old leaf-spring and recently I have been re building some older traditional pocket knives and about to build one entirely from scratch.
I was 'aware' of this forum but hadn't really taken too much notice until prompted by Doug Webber a while back.
Wish I'd found this wonderful forum a long time ago with all the beaut tutorials and how too's I could have saved a lot of time (and reject projects ::uc:: )

Cheers Derek

Welcome! And that's a fine looking fixed blade there!
