Re: Rose on a handmade Pakistani knife
I do know a lot of counterfeit knives come out of Pakistan and I've never seen a quality Pakistan knife, in fact most are junk and they are not 440A, 440B, or 440C. They are poorly made copies of US made knives, Buck 110, Clasp knives and a couple European knives. Some that have claimed to be at 59 on the Rc scale, actually test out to mid to low 40's Rc. A little higher than annealed.badassbye wrote:i had bought a handmade Pakistani knife at a garage sale and it has a rose design on it. i looked on eBay and a lot of others had them to. so if you know what in means pleas help

There have been scams where sellers buy large quantities of Pakistan knives, remove the made in Pakistan (easily done with a buffer, it's just inked) and put their own custom artwork on them, they sold from $40.00 to $50.00 each.

Some of the Pakistan knives could have a rose artwork, I don't know. But what I can tell you that if you paid more than $5.00, it was to much.
Unfortunately a lot were made back in the early 80's that are still being sold today. There has been a romor of an assoaciation with Frost.

As far as I know, Blue Ridge Knives is the importers of the Pakistan knives, includung the White Buffalo and Bulldog clasp knives that are copies of the Case Clasp knives (5172?) and the Bulldog clasp knife is usually sold as a Bulldog Brand, but you can't access their site unless you are a dealer.
IMO, the world would be better without these junkers.
