What's the big deal??

Little old "tool" knife, 3" long. Cracked off piece of handle at the front.
So why get excited??

Well, I collect Punches and Harness Jacks, and Empires, that's why !::ds::
And I have never seen this pattern.

Am I certifiable or what???

This is actually a near perfect example of Seymour Alvord's 1906 patented punch. His family through I believe three generations, owned Empire from 1858 until they sold it in 1920. (Dates to be verified)

Just to make you feel better though, I have always considered you a little crazy and cracked in your harness jack adventure...

Great find Charlie!! That's the first punch jack I've seen. Oftentimes it doesn't matter what the condition of a knife is when it's as rare as that one, and I might add that aside from the missing splinter it looks damned good
