A Keen Comparison

I just picked this old Walden Knife Co. single blade jack up (bottom in photos) It bears quite a resemblance to the Keen Kutter above it.
Made in the same factory of course. Some minor differences deeper swedge and longer nail nick on walden plus the pin near the shield. I can't tell if the blade shapes were the same due to the many years of service on the Keen Kutter. Thought it would be interesting to show!

Nice comparison Paul, and nice snag on that Walden as well! Looks to have been barely used. I've noticed quite a few Waldens (mine included) with chipped blades. I wonder if perhaps the steel they used was hardened a bit too much. Then again, it could be a lot of them were used to pry open beer bottles ::shrug:: :D

Side by sides are educational and fun; Thanks Paul!
It is interesting that the pile side rivets seem to match in location, while the mark sides vary near the shield.
