Digging their heels in like that is one of the indicators that individual doesn't know their A** from their elbow about knives or at least that particular knife.
It seems those that scream the loudest often have the least important things to say :) I hate when know-it-alls try to buffalo me on something that I clearly know more about than them. I usually just nod and smile and roll my eyes as I walk away. This is especially true at Best Buy, when a sales guy on the floor is describing a new computer to me.

I sent him a URL for completed Ebay auctions that included at least two of the exact same knife in the OP. One sold for $46.00 and one for $72.00, I believe.

Other knives in the list were in those very same boxes, the one's "Queen never produced" according to him.

Well, I got a response today that was pretty much the same as the one Wayne posted above.

"Your (sic) exactly like the rest of these bone heads, Read and automatically believe, your (sic) a fool"

A "fool".

My, my.

For a guy operating an Ebay Store for a charitable organization, he's not a very charitable person, is he?

I have about three or four broad-ranging paragraphs I could send to him, but I think I'm just going to let it go.

I thought about contacting the "Charity" to tell them their Ebay Store manager was detrimental to their yearly income. But, I'm not going to do that either.

I'm done with him.

That is, of course, unless you guys want to initiate an Ebay bombardment with salient "advice" and/or corrections re' his many erroneous descriptions and false attributions on all the other such knives that are to be found in his hundred or so auctions.

I'm game. ::tu::

I did a search for his successfully completed auctions for the past fifteen days.

I guess it pays.

Who are these people paying those prices for such knives? ::facepalm::

Am I just completely out of touch with the market? ::shrug::

Well, it seems someone is paying the price, though that 881 in the Founders Edition tin was on his site last summer, IIRC. I guess if you relist it for enough months they finally sell no matter how ridiculous the price. ::shrug::

This nitwit resists any attempt to educate him. The real idiots, other than him, are the poor fools that believe his uneducated rants and pay the unreal prices for his knives. I find it hard to believe any reasonable person working for a "charity" would ever respond in this manor.

Another quote from this charitable gentleman, ditwtexas.

I ain't part of your little group and will never be if for no other reason than self preservation and anonymity from being identified as a complete idiot. Money Friend Money that's what everything revolves around and until you spend some of yours I personally don't want to listen to your bull.

I'm beginning to wonder if this charity actually exists or is the whole thing a scam of his creation.

A former Special Forces soldier, Daniel Castillo, wounded in Central America and now a quadriplegic is affiliated with this outfit, according to their website.

I am becoming very angry. Best I walk away from this buffoon before I do something I regret.

Apparently founded by a couple named Blair after their daughter became paralyzed. The husband is now deceased and the wife is the president or director.

They have loads of advisors and board members.

Their Ebay Store manager, who I assume to be the individual spewing all this vitriol, is a man named Ralph Kessler. You can see his photo on the link Ray posted above.

I keep wondering what Mrs. Blair would think of all this and her, "Money Friend Money that's what everything revolves around" Ebay Store manager.

Of course, she might not give a rip, since he appears to be producing a large amount of that around which his world and her's revolves.

Wow Charlie, that's you and me both - I was told I don't know crap about Case knives (see my previous post on the trapper I bought).

This seller is a real piece of work. I wonder how he could explain the "1 of 100" etch if this is an old knife not a modern collectible. What a miserable POS this guy is, based on his nasty comments.

I have seen his listings before and always had a good laugh at the descriptions and prices.

OTOH, the prices that people pay for his stuff aren't just high, they are INSANE. And I say this as a regular Ebay seller myself putting out decent knives with accurate descriptions and I have learned to be happy with the realistic prices that I can get, which are WAY lower (relative to the knives actual values) than this guy.

Hard to explain, unless buyers are genuinely taken by the "charity" thing and thus pay more. Maybe people buy the knives, then use the purchase as an IRS charitable deduction for the full price paid? Maybe that's the game he is playing.

As nasty as this pinhead is, I wonder how much of the money actually goes to charity.

I Googled his name.

He is a forum member at iKnifeCollector.com

There is also some discussion over at BladeForums.com of a former well respected custom knife maker from South Carolina, but I do not think this is the same guy, though it might be. Last post there was in 2013 and he was still in SC at the time.

He is something that Bernard Levine has discussed many times, a self proclaimed expert that refuses to recognize any truth that disagrees with his preconceptions.

We are never going to be able to knock this jerk down a peg or so, unless Barbara Blair, his defacto boss, (apparently, he does this work voluntarily) calls a halt to his less than acceptable behavior on Ebay.

I'd love to see him prosecuted for Mail Fraud, which I think he is very close to being guilty of.

He takes some knives, couples them with empty, but incorrect packaging and paperwork and lists them as NITB Ebay items.

His descriptions are very misleading and ambiguous. He infers, without actually stating, things about the knives that make them sound more desirable than they should be.

Take some time to peruse all his Ebay items. It's a real eye opener. Some of you know way more about the majority of his knives than I do.

It appears that most of the knives are sold at a "or best offer" price. I could be wrong on this but I didn't think eBay revealed the real purchase price on an OBO deal. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

Does he get to list the items for free and does Ebay take a share of his sales if they are a recognized charitable partner or whatever?

Maybe contact Mrs. Blair through the charity, and mention that their store is selling items with questionable descriptions, and when confronted about it they became belligerent.

You're right on the mark, Jerry. eBay just shows that the item sold but not for what price. The crossed out number is just what the seller had the item listed for as a Buy-It-Now.

The reason the prices aren't crossed out with this guy's sold listings is because that reflects the price when he had the item on sale. The original price before the item was put on sale is what has been crossed out here.

I did some research on this guy maybe 3 years ago because I could tell something was rotten here. I found out that although he was registered as a charity in a particular county in Texas he had never furnished a single act of charity. Sometime earlier he had arranged to advertise a fishing trip on a big boat which was only available to disabled people. Turns out that all of these poor souls had to kick up hard money of their own to go. That is the only incidence on public record of 'him' doing ANYTHING as a charity. I think he is somehow linked to organized crime and his whole knife deal is a scam for Federal income tax fraud. This is all an opinion; I have no hard evidence for any of it, but I haven't been around for near 70 years and not learned to smell a rat.

So, do you think the website with all those photos of different people, including City Council Persons, nurses, etc; all the alleged acts of kindness, congratulatory notes, all those corporate logos indicating sponsorship, etc, are all bogus and it's just this one guy?

I thinkl all that stuff dates back several years and nothing ever came of it, just pr to get him started on his tax dodge. This is just an opinion. NO facts here. Where does he get all these knives? Ah, well... that's it for me; I never read his listings anymore and I have more productive battles to fight. Not gonna let him ruin my mood anymore.
