NW PA knife club anyone?

In a recent conversation with PA knives, the subject came up of an active knife club in the NW PA area. I was wondering if there were any interest in starting the same. My thought was maybe a quarterly meet and swap. Any thoughts out there? David has just met with the Western Reserve Cutlery organization and was quite impressed. Let me know what you guys think.

Justin is a true student of knives and soaks up information like a sponge. Great guy, his idea is a good one, but don't think that it is limited to just NW pa. I know everyone thinks we are at the corner of the world, but an hour or so drive three or four times a year to enjoy OUR favorite hobby is well worth it. Think about it and contact Justin. Nothing fancy, just knife knuts like us who like to learn from others and share in our hobby. It would be GREAT fun. Hope you consider.

Maybe I could be a virtual member.... wouldn't make it to many meetings though. s-k

I would be in, however I am a life member of the NCCA and find it hard to get to shows that they put on since they are so far from me. Usually 4 plus hours away. They don't have monthly meetings were you can bring knives and talk and trade knives. There is a club in NYC that has I think monthly meetings and I know some members that go and it is really good I am told. I was a member of the Keystone Blade Association and they had or might still have monthly meetins/swaps?? But I am not sure. I would love to be a memeber of a PA based group but not if it was only in Western PA. If it could be that a meeting rotates around so it would be easier to attend that might work for me. Not sure how that would work though. I would support a knife show put on by a knife club also.

An online version would be of great interest to me. With today's technologies a streaming video, webcams-etc. could be an excellent and new way to hold meetings. I did attend meetings that were USA, Europe, and Asia all at once in the late 90's. I would think the price of the equipment is not as large as it once was.

An idea I find interesting, maybe Bryan has an idea of what it takes, I've been out of the mainstream technology gig for a few years.

I'd like a Pa. based club as well. There is, or was one meeting in the Coopersburg, Lehigh Co. area, but I haven't seen activity on their website since last May.

N.W. Pa. would be a major trip, probably an overnighter, but rotating as Mike suggested, or a meeting place more centrally located, would interest me.
