Roger; that is interesting...I have never seen another Schatt with the acorn. I vaguely recall seeing a Schatt 5 blade sowbelly with an oak leaf shield. Interesting that they used the acorn on that pattern as well.

Ok...well, given that people are just throwing knife brands out willy nilly (though Valley Forge was a good guess, due to the Boker connection)...I'll give one more teensy clue...the name rhymes with Splatt & Sorghum.

Well, I tried. Probably woulda guessed Boker because I've seen a Boker whittler with acorn shield before, but by the time I got onto the thread, Boker had already been deemed incorrect. So decided maybe Valley Forge.

Thanks Steve for stimulating the brain cells, and educating us. Not to mention the fun!

Steve , I was wrong it was a oak leaf shield on the sowbelly.There was one on eBay a couple years ago that I thought wasn't right and contacted David Clark about it.He said the shield was correct for the knife.It had replacement bone on it and ended up not bringing much.I think most people thought it was fake.

Ahaa...That is the one that I saw. Odd handles like smooth bone.. I think David ended up with it but I may be wrong. Or maybe I saw a different one on Ebay - was quite awhile ago.

Why are you all still throwing out guesses when Steve has already revealed, a dozen or so posts back, that the knife is a Schatt & Morgan?

Do you not read nor comprehend what everybody else has written in the interim?

Sheesh.

My first thought was Remington, because of the "blood groove" and the sleeveboard whittler pattern. I had a Remington like that once that I bought at a flea market.

The acorn shield, though, did not make sense re' Remington, as there is not punch blade. And, of course, someone had already guessed Remington, which Steve shot down.

Pity, David Clark didn't see this post.

Fascinating knife.

I like Steve's guess-what-this-is posts, but I've never even come close to getting one correct.

I'm going to have to come up with one that might stump him in return.
