You're Gonna Be Amazed...
...when you find out what brand this knife is.
Before I reveal it, anyone care to guess?
If anyone guesses correctly, they will win...well, nothing. But you will have the satisfaction of winning.

Joe; by any chance do you mean SABRE, the low-end Cole National brand? Just checking. I want this contest to be fair, due to the high-value prize involved.FRJ wrote:Saber

Remington and Boker are very good, well-educated guesses. But...no.
I will say that it is a USA knife company.

Re: You're Gonna Be Amazed...
Great responses...but no prize yet.
The reason that I thought this was interesting is that most collectors of old knives would associated that pattern with Remington - it is referred to as the "blood groove whittler" due to the groove along the main clip blade. We also associate the "acorn" shield with Remington, but only for knives with a punch blade.
Due to the commonality of employees and therefore designs between Remington, Utica, and Boker USA, any of those three would be good guesses - but all incorrect.
I will say that (again) it is a USA brand, and (another clue) it is a manufacturer's brand, not a contract brand.

The jigging looks a little like Winchester or Napanoch but I'm guessing it would have to be older than Remington to use the acorn. Maybe I'm way off.

Steve, I was going for that Japanese brand. The fuller threw me. I thought it was the usual flip up of Japanese efforts of the day.knifeaholic wrote:Joe; by any chance do you mean SABRE, the low-end Cole National brand? Just checking. Ok...well, given that people are just throwing knife brands out willy nilly (though Valley Forge was a good guess, due to the Boker connection)...I'll give one more teensy clue...the name rhymes with Splatt & Sorghum.

Never would have guessed that one Steve. You always come up with tough brain teasers. I'm still waiting for an easy one. Schatt & Morgan.........tough.
