(Practically) Free Stuff

Hi Folks,

It was a good night, here in Arkansas. Prowling around in the basement, I opened a box with 20 old copies of "Knife World" magazine, dating from 1985 to 1989. So, you know what I did all night.

One of the best articles (Stanman will appreciate this), was a 3-page writeup, of the "Largest Knife in the World" contest, held in Theirs, back in '87. The judges couldn't decide, so they had two winners. A 21-foot filet knife, and an 11-foot folding knife (Laguiole), with a 4-foot corkscrew. Both knives were listed in Guiness. But, they couldn't find a fish large enough to test the filet knife.

Neway, I'd like to share these with the good members of AAPK. Since there's only 20, limit one per customer. After reading your copy, I encourage ya'll to pass them around, if you like.

Cost is absolutely free. Just PM me, with name and address, and I'll send you a copy PDQ. If you'd like to send a buck, to cover the cost of envelopes and stamps, Ok. But, that's not absolutely necessary.

. Do any of your magazines feature an article on Sheffield knives or knives with corkscrews. If so, I would like one please. I will cover any costs to post across the pond.

S-K, I'm glad you asked early. One copy has an 8-page story of a Yank's visit to Sheffield. May not be anything you don't already know, but some pictures of some old stuff.

I would especially be interested if you see anything on AL Mar Knives, otherwise anything will work.

This will be great we can create a web log that lists the contents of each issue & circulate them among our selves. Kind of a On-Line-Lending-Library.

Perhaps this is the start of something new & useful.

Dale, I did find one issue with a good write-up of the AMK Bowie, it's on it's way. It's not the article I remembered, but it's a pretty good write-up.
S-K, yours is on the way, but might take an extra day or two.
Roger, I cudn't find a thing, not even an ad for TKW or Colonel Coon. But I think you're gonna enjoy it, anyway.
Tank, by all means, PM your address, I'll be looking thru the issues I have left, for something like what you want.
David, if you sent your address, I lost it. (As Pop used to say - "I CAN remember, when I had a memory".)
