Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I just acquired the Stag Tested Trapper 5254 1920-40 from Knifeaholic. I think it fits in real well with my other 54's.
Left to right.
Tested Winterbottom
Tested Rogers Bone
Tested Greenbone
Tested Stag
XX 1st model Red Stag
USA 2nd Cut STAG.

Used Case Trapperlock. Looking for a good used Trapperlock it needs to be in decent shape with beltclip. Handle material of any kind is o.k. If you have something like that p.m. me with price. ftd

Wondering if it's like Goldstone or different? I always liked the Goldstone look, kind of classic meets modern in my opinion. I don't work for Case or Shepherd Hills, just a fan. ::tu::


*Edit- the new Gold Sparkle is Kirinite, which is more stable, while the Goldstone was celluloid. Answered my own question.

Some great knives being posted. Thanks for showing them. I picked up this Tested Greenbone Congress the other day. Goes well with my other Case Congress knives that are around it.

Tom, I really like the Tested Greenbone 88 but then I looked at the others and all I can say is WOW. What a great collection of 88s ::nod::

This showed up unannounced in the mail box from master Glennbad. Not only a fabulous surprise, but maybe the coolest knife I have ever seen or had. Some fine ivory work and lanyard editions to a Copperlock provided by Brother Q. Thanks to the both of you. Now I'll probably never again have such a cool knife in the mail box. Holy Grail territory. Thanks both of ya, good fortune and blessings to ya.

I agree with reddirtknives. If you are buying though you must keep in mind that either you or your family is going to be selling at some point down the road. Coming from the "old school" point of view your loom fixer is bone and not red bone. If for no other reason than the $$ factor you must hold this view. If you buy at redbone prices then sell at bone prices you are going to lose money. Take a fool's advice. Call it what you want to, true redbone brings the best money. That is strawberry or Cherry red from bolster to bolster with matching front and back handles. It is what it is.
