The auction was a very sad event in my life. I learned that several companies tried to buy the Camillus factory and keep it running. Something good did come out of the auction. I saw many of the former Camillus employees who have moved on with their lives. I also meet LT and that was a pleasure. I learned more about switchblades in one evening than I had learned in 30 years.
A special thanks to Steve Koonz of Smokey Mountain Knife Works for purcahsing the WWII plaque and loaning it to the Camillus Historical Society. I also met Nick Trbovich of Ontario Knife Co. and Ken Griffey of Bear & Son Cutlery. They donated dozens of cutlery maps dating back to 1930. Mark Schmutz of Brown Bark I and NC Ventures donated several scrapbooks filled with ads, aerial photos and a brass plaque that hung in the Camillus factory. Thank you to everyone that donated items. Much of the cutlery's history will be preserved in our community.
The day before the auction we had a get together at my home and I invited many of Camillus' former employees. We all had a good time talking about our years at Camillus. Nick Trbovich of Ontario/Queen also attended and presented me with a Chaiman's Choice knife made by Queen Cutlery and Canal Street Cutlery. It is a real work of art. I wil send photos to Phil to post here.
It was great seeing old friends and making new friends.

I was upset I was unable to attend as I was on a plane at the time; so glad the Gathering was such the event it was!

As we continue to Celebrate the life of the Quiet Giant, here is a little contest. I will send a mystery prize to the first poster (not previously a Camillus employee) who correctly identifies each of the Camillus produced knives in the attached pic.

Let the fun begin!!

Ah, the only one I recognize is the T2 knife, and even then i always thought it was a UNITED made one

A contest! Way cool.

I'll hand the slam dunks: Becker Companion and Navy Mark two world war 2 commemorative (not sure of the name of this one, so not a complete answer).

Remember... the 'Quiet Giant'... what the tang says can mean nothing. Camillus made knives for darn never everyone.

I only recognize three of them; Becker BK2 (which I own) OVB FISK

and a Marine Combat. The one with the black handle and finger ring,

really has me stumped!

The last knife I believe, is the OBV Fisk Southwest Bowie, either that or the regular OBV Fisk Bowie.
WAY nice knife!!
