Restored the ANVIL tip on this SOG!

Post by TripleF »

Landed this SOG FLASH II in a "lot" purchase from the bay.
Pictures posted by the seller were horrible so I couldn't see the model or the damage.

Somebody used the tip of this knife as a chopping block or anvil (that's my opinion - an overstatement, but the tip was mangled to say the least).

All reprofiling was done with sharpening (dual grit) stones, and sandpaper to remove grind marks.....

Before and after pics.....

Scott, like Jerry said, you're developing skills ::tu:: . Looks like you've turned it into a good user!
The SOG Flash II is a pretty fair knife. My son-in-law gave me one and being the polite southern gentleman that I am, I said thank you and put it away. I thought it was another tactical from China  , boy was I surprised when I looked it up on the computer several months later. I like the chisel grind for sure and the one handed opening is great around the farm. Fits very well in the breast pocket on my bib overalls.

Nice Job Scott! It's great to make something usable again. Even better when you can do it yourself!
