OVB HARNESS JACK

Post by cattaraugus57 »

Anyone have any info on a OVB 1309 Harness Jack?...
I do know a bit about the Harrison Punch.
Pretty beat up but a cool pattern...not 100% sure this didn't have a 3rd Blade( ::shrug:: )
Looks like the Spring is broken where it curves up at the Bolster..?

sorry about the "china" sticker in the Photos!! :shock: ::facepalm:: ::barf::

It`s probably just a catch bit for the spring to stop against.

Looks to me like a broken blade that has been opened, then ground to match the curve of the bolster.

The Harrison patent punch was assigned to New York Knife and they were known to have produced knifes for Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett.

I originally thought that too Glennbad but the top of that piece is like a machined finish( in hand it looks different) and I don't know what type on Blade that would be, it would have to be very short.
Even though there are file marks on it,the Bolsters are un touched.
I don't know how or if that could be done.

Finding another 1309 would be the key eh?

Charlie, I did read that on here..it's always amazing to Me finding out what Co's made knives for other Co's

Update...well I stand corrected.. I moved it with the Pliers of my multi-tool so it is the sad remains
of a former Blade/tool..... ::doh::

Just like Glenn said. Knife was a originally a 3 blade cattle knife and has had 1 blade opened and ground off.
