Can't believe you made it 15 months, I feel good when I make it one. But at least you held out for an absolute sweetie. Congrats, fabulous knife.

Great pickups Tom! All 4 are fine beauties! That 3/4 pattern is awesome. Can't recall how many different models they made but not more than a couple if I recall. I know to some extent you are a "catch and release" knifer but those are some for the stringers there!
Congrats my friend! Regards, Jerry

Have to agree, those are all beauties Tom. Especially like the 6318s with Rogers bone and the punch blade. Both rare versions of an otherwise fairly common pattern.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Thanks much Steele!
I may try to pick up a few TESTED to add but my original goal is done. The TESTED swing guards are not cheap for ones that are in good shape but that is not my concern. Just hard for me to justify to myself when I am trying to downsize my collection (but will touch the swing guards) at this point.
Regards my friend. Hope life finds you well.

Picked this one up at the Wilmington Ohio show. A 06263 Eisenhower Tested with Winterbottom bone handles. This one is not in the book. I was glad to find it. Sometimes it pays to look at a lot of knives. You never know what you might find.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
That's a great question. The guy I bought it from thought it was stag. I thought it looked like Winterbottom to me but frankly wasn't sure. I asked the guy if I could take it across the hall and have Tony Foster look at it and he said sure. Tony immediately said it was Winterbottom and that he had never seen one. He said look at the little squiggly lines in the trail on the handle. Having it home for awhile I am definitely convinced it is Winterbottom. Hard to see in the pictures but if you look at the pile side of the knife you can see the lines.msteele6 wrote:Sure that's not a 5263?

The loom fixer is red bone. Have one made in 1975. Fairly hard knife to come buy. You would be surprised how many so-called Case collectors do not know what a loom fixer is or how it came to be or what it was used for.

Which loom fixer is red bone? Did I miss something? No disrespect intended, just not following you.black1970 wrote:The loom fixer is red bone. Have one made in 1975. Fairly hard knife to come buy. I have an identical twin to yours. I probably would have preferred a different color bone, but at the time this was the only one I could find at all the places I looked. The color has grown on me as time goes on though, so it'll stay.Ivoryman wrote:2010 Seahorse Whittler, Confederate Gray Bone, rock solid knife.
