Cattaraugus - Fake er not

Post by rexstubbins »

This one stands out to me as a complete fake.

1) No pattern number that I can see.
2) I've never seen chased bolsters that wide on a legit Catt
3) Bone looks newly dyed. Look at top and bottom. No dye.
4) Never seen a shield like this on a Catt.

Could be wrong. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

The words vintage and antique are vague. Actually most words are vague. Even the word vague is vague.

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Someone had to be sniffing glue to come up with that shield. ::oh_my::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

And yet this "$&*%#@" of a seller still has 100% positive feedback ::disgust:: ... no doubt the eBay system is terribly flawed... or the buyers don't know any better... either way I have in the past (from the first knife I saw of his that I had interest in there was a red flag and never bid) and would advise as the others above note - stay clear of him and don't waste your time and money.....

I'm a great believer in Karma.
Tommy will get what's coming to him some day.
