I've run across a
R4356 S - Mint in box
and a
R4243 SB - Mint in box
I have Sargent's which doesn't list a 4356. But it does list an R4243 but the pictures don't quite match up. Here are the two pictures I have of the knives. Can anyone tell me year of production of these two knives and an approximate value? I'm assuming these are nothing that would be found in Sargent's - probably too new.
Don't know anything about Remington though. Thanks,

You are correct in that it is too new for Sargents. Original Remingtons date from about 1920 to 1940. Yours is an authorized reproduction and the series began about 1982. I am not really sure about the date on yours but it should be stamped on the tang if I am not mistaken.
The repros have some collector interest and you might check Ebay to see what this one usually sells for. If I remember correctly, the early repros were made by Camillus

Looks like the "Bush Pilot" (4356) was made in two versions...a regular Delrin stag, and your jigged bone (?) version of 5000. Seems to have been issued in 1993. Camp style knife in 1994.
