Yo Scott - thanks for posting those other photos of those tortoise shell knives

- they even come with their own leather folding case with nice inner lining - nice

... Interesting blade on them (looks like the shape of a throwing knife to me) and what's the shell scale that folds out of the knife? They are cool but I have no clue what they are or were used for?

No doubt look old based on the tortoise shell and cool folding case...

They are Lancets for blood letting. See levines #4 pg. 299 Old medical tools

Appears to be real tortoise shell....and they fit snuggly in the case.

And there's a set just like mine that sold for $80.00 on the bay!

It looks to have been built when there was no question of getting a questionable heat treat.
The yellow delrin one I tried had a bad main blade.
I'm thinking of trying a Chinese Schrade.

Rummage sale find today for a dollar. Kershaw lightly used, unsharpened 1560 assisted opening side lock. I'm not much for tactical knives, but I like this one. ___Dave
