Ha ha ha, thought the 72 was a Stockman, my mistake, thanks Producer. With main Clip, coping next to it, and clip on the other end I've never seen that configuration before on a whittler, seems unique.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I-Man, you'll get plenty of argument from the purists but Camillus named the #72 "Carpenter's and Whittler's knife" when they introduced it in 1946. They called it that until sometime in the mid-1970s when they dropped the "Carpenters" and from that day forward just called it a "Whittler".
As for the Camillus Delrin® handles, I recently found out that the people who made Rogers bone handles (which Camillus used) started making Delrin® handles in the 1960s after Delrin® came out and they stopped jigging bone. Since Camillus got their bone handles from Rogers,
you don't suppose they continued with the company and bought their Delrin® handles from them too? Now where would that Delrin® mold for those handles have come from?

Keep rooting Dogg, my heart was stopping - I thought the Giants had us, but I still love those magnificent Cowboys - especially during the last 90 seconds! Why didn't they do that the entire game?? Good luck on liking trappers - I just don't care for Spey blades no matter what knife they are in, however I can tolerate them better in a Stockman because it normally has a Sheepfoot too.garddogg56 wrote:The Cowboys tried to give us the gameLike I'm trying to like trappers.

I'll bet your heart was stopping I sat down thinking the Giants didn't have a chance i guess the cowboys don't shoot well they tried to shoot off both of there feet
and still won
Scott I like both teams when growing up there were no Patriots(AFL=SUB STANDARD FOOTBALL the semi-pro Eastern League was better football than the AFL) all we got on tv in Maine were Giants games
untill the AFL changed to the AFC

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Scott, that is a very nice Camillus Cattle knife, a historic design. I see Camillus used a pen blade in lieu of the spey blade on that design - smart move on their part - only Case with their 63032/53032 does that today (that I know of). OH

What a Beauty!!!!! My 83 rides just fine in my left front with two other knives, change and my money clip. I am thinking of trying to make a lanyard of sorts to help retrieve my pocket worry stone a little quicker though.Ivoryman wrote:Today I'm seeing how this baby rides. Tidioute #83 Drop Pt LB.

Jerry, Ken, Dave, Producer, Don, Grump, thanks a bunch and anyone I missed. Appreciate the rat tips and Camillus info too. Read up on the Co., but never had their product. That should change tomorrow.
Meanwhile back to the past again where I'm usually stuck. Usually late sixties or early seventies. The good old days before everything went disposable. When we didn't wear seatbelts, bicycle helmets, head phones etc. When people who walked by would look at you and acknowledge, not ignore you, unable to pull away from their device. And when they built beautiful artwork like this '65-69 Swell End Jack 6235 1/2. One of the best knives I've ever had, perfect size, two nice blades, sweet crisp but smooth action, build to last, and red splotch bone to drool on. Best Case in my book aren't being built anymore. What a shame.

Great carries men!
Inspired by Ivoryman's immanent Camillus arrival, I took the #72 out for the last part of the day. Wonderful knife.

Killing me Producer, rolling in the isles, that was hilarious. Thanks for thinking of me, uh, or the knife. I'll post if it comes tomorrow. Good looking piece you have there, looks like the spitting image, tang stamp too. Is that a '60-76? Thanks, makes the day. Thanks Dave, and Grump, glad you like the scales.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I was planning on carrying a Camillus today, especially since Producer was so kind as to carry one for me, but no luck. Tracking says it hasn't moved since yesterday morn in Akron OH. I've had things get to me in two days from the East Coast, but apparently it takes longer from Ohio even though it's half the distance. So today I had to pick something else and this one's it. Tidioute #26 Little Carver is small at 3 inches closed, but it's deceiving, the sleeveboard is wide and thick enough to grab onto. Barley notice it in the jeans pocket, coin pocket that is. Love the color too.

Tracking on the Camillus says Akron OH two days ago. Nothing since then. Thought it would be here yesterday, maybe today, mabye tomorrow, who knows? I just know I still feel like getting a fix so something else will have to do for now. Keeping the Tidioute thing rolling to pass time until Camillus arrives.

Great minds think alike, dogg. I've had it's brother stuck in my back pocket for several days. I haven't used it but it's there if I need it.
