GEC 53 update
The 53's are getting closer. We started shaping the bone handles today and expect to start jigging them this week.
Not sure how many of you know this but almost all of the bone handle material is jigged right at the GEC bone works located in our factory.
Also we use North American cattle bone not the stuff from overseas where they call almost everything cattle like water buffalo and such.

The 53 will be a cigar pattern knife.

Hey GECTECHMAN, you should have warned us about the new 2007 casseins, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw one pop up with a buy it now of $85
. I had my finger on the enter button in two seconds, figuring it was a 2006 sent from the knife gods right to my computer screen, but then took a closer look and realized something was different before I pulled the trigger (end caps) . Oh well, I'm normally not that lucky so why should things change now

Wait until you see the SNAKEWOOD handle one coming out.
There was a very small run of snakewoods done earlier, I am not talking about them.
This run was cut from a log in a way to show the beauty of the wood.
The last one was nice but cut from a board and did not show the figure as well as this one.
Just my opinion of course.

Sorry but I think they are also the 73 pattern instead of the 23 of the Open house knife.ea42 wrote:Hey GECTECHMAN, you should have warned us about the new 2007 casseins, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw one pop up with a buy it now of $85![]()

singin, that's mkc's knife, I just edited out the blue for him. I
haven't got any of the end capped knives myself yet, although that should change pretty shortly
. I'm actually still hunting for a 2006 chocolate bone and of course the elusive casein to complete my 2006 collection, but I believe it's going to be a long wait (at least for ones I can afford
) Sorry for the confusion.
