I call this finish- Vinegar Pitted Damascus!

I decided to soak this rusty blade in some vinegar for a day. I pulled it out and the rust was gone but the pitting was still present.

I did not, however, feel like entering into a 12 hour ordeal with sandppaer and different grits to make 'er shiny again.....so I created a new finish....

Scott - if you explain that the finish is designed to keep sunlight from reflecting off the blade and alerting the enemy, then that pitting should add 50% to the value of the knife!

Scott it reminds of the some real gnarly stone wash! I like it. By the way I aint forgot about Bro! You got a nice little lock back coming your way. I should finish it next weekend. I think you'll like it!
