Greetings from northern Pennsylvania

Post by knifehandles »

Just joined up today and would like to say thanks for having a great site. I myself have always enjoy a wide range of pocket knives and as time slows down here for me I just might try making a few knives myself, seeing how I got a bunch of great handle stock here. And please be sure to check out my donation in the auction site here, and hope I did that right too. Again thanks

Hello knifehandles;

"I myself have always enjoy a wide range of pocket knives" you said

Well we sure do have that... ::tu:: ::nod:: Some fixed blades too.

I am new and just learning the words that describe parts of a pocket knife. Name of knives and the difference's.(handles, scales, bolsters, end capes, things like that). Names of makers (man and company).

If you want to learn Please ask so I can learn with you.

We have many smart people here and some with knowledge too... :lol: :lol:

Thanks you for your donation ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks for the welcoming. Seems to have alot of great people here and alot of information to put to good use here. The donation was no problem, like I said I got a good bit of material sitting and needs to go to good use. I have spinal stenosis, in my lower back and keeps me in a good deal of pain steady and has limited my ability to work greatly. and I got some time to do things now. I used to log through my years and saved all the nice burls, spalts and such that had no commerical value in the logging business. So I guess I am finally got the time to start collecting knives, maybe seeing if I could not build a few myself. The scales I put up for auction are much nicer then the photo shows. I don't have much to offer here except for my knowledge of northern hardwoods, access to some great material for handles, short thin figured lumber for dispaly boxes and stands too, and in the process of putting together a stabilizer and learning about that processes as well too. So any help, knowledge, or material I can help out with please feel free to ask. Again thanks for the wonderful site and all the good people here.
