I've added the two below. The 721 because Jerry has been speaking so highly of them I had to see what the excitement was all about. Sharp right out of the box (this one came in a box, not the clamshell package), after oiling and working it, good action. I have no other tacticals to compare with. No wobble side to side or up and down. Fits the hand well and the hole works better for me to open than the thumbstud on the Bantam. For under 30 bucks all in, what the heck?

I think maybe the Bantam is even a better deal. Found this one and another marked down at my local 'mart to 15.99, made in the US of A. For this kind of money they make for great users or as gifts. The blade action is OK, no wobble in any direction on my two, stays closed, no droop and snaps closed. I bought them because they are so darn inexpensive. The thumbstud is somewhat awkward, it doesn't matter a great deal to me.

I like both of them and use them in rotation with other traditional pocketknives.

As I've said several times, the thumb stud is not for me either but the Bantam seems to be a fine knife otherwise. Good choices.

I was in academy sports store looking for some ammo the other day and spied 110 in the other aisle $ 27 it flung a craving on me so I purchased that booger, lost the one I had.several years ago thought I ought to have one just in case.

I stopped at a reliable knife finding place today; a pawn shop whose owner likes to buy knives - he usually has something held back that he thinks I'll like (most any USA made Buck, Case or Schrade). Today he had this for me, a circa 1981 Buck 120 General with sambar stag handles. Missing the sheath, but he sold me the knife right! I've already started looking for a sheath. OH

Thanks again guys for the compliments. Got a sheath for it from Carl Thomas in MS, came in today's mail - fits perfectly. I like the open top sheath to show off the stag handle. OH

1999 SFO, (Special Factory Order), made by Camillus, Buck #331 Granddaddy Barlow, new in box with paperwork. Sold only in the SMKW catalog, never advertised or sold by Buck itself.
Why? Why not?? Saw the chance and took it. I collect CC-made Buck 300 series knives, and this is one of the jewels of that series, so I am thrilled to have it.
Big knife, 5" closed, (see side by side photo with a #110). This will be preserved as is, and will be passed down to my grandson.

Also recently was "bombed" with a #317 Trail Blazer, (also CC-made). Love this knife, I carry it daily. So, that's the two new additions to my Buck family.

Thanks Jerry, I'm thrilled and honored to have it. I'm afraid to touch it it's so pristine, and so "new". However, as a folding knife it is indeed a fine , high quality example of US-made industrial hardware; a fine tool indeed. Camillus sure could make wonderful knives, too bad they're gone.

One of those "If I knew then what I know today" situations. I bet if I had bought this directly from the SMKW catalog in '99 it would have cost substantially less, but for once in my life I was in the right place at the right time, and knew enough about what I was looking at to take an educated chance. Thrilled is an understatement, I'm also lucky, (this time at least).

I especially want to thank 300bucks, bertl, and others here who freely shared their knowledge with me, otherwise this would now be in someone else's collection instead of mine; knowledge is power!!

I think I want to eventually find a glass case to keep this one in, but for now it looks good sitting on it's box on my buffet.

Thanks!! Directly from SMKW no less!! They had this one and a yellow version, as well as a bunch of other past cataloged knives listed. Looks like they are selling off old left over odds 'n ends inventory, (possibly display models or returns?), really glad I happened to be watching. Still kicking myself for passing up the yellow version, but ya can't spend what ya don't got, very glad I at least ended up with one of them. I'm keeping the SMKW invoice for documentation.

I will be mean now....in the second photo the one with the odd reverse tang stamp is some type of proto. Note the brass spring rivet and small top rivet instead of SS. And the bolster stamp is different. And it does not say Granddaddy Barlow on blade.

No less indeed!! As opposed to it coming from somebody's collection that is, a brand new, 15 year old knife. Ya gotta allow a guy a little exuberance, it makes living with the expenditure somewhat more bearable.
BTW: 300, this is all your fault!! How dare you share years of accumulated knowledge with a guy like me, see what happens?
Seriously, I would have never even known about Buck Grandaddy Barlows, SFO's, or developed such an interest in CC-made 300 series knives if I hadn't read about them in your many posts in various threads. Somehow, knowing the history behind the knife in your hand is very gratifying; thanks.
