I think GECTECHMAN said the story was on the tube. An acronym about the town of Tidioute.
It's an enigma wrapped in a riddle.

SERPENT ALLEGHENY REPTILE _____ ______ TIDIOUTE or

SERPENT _______ REPTILE PLAY ______ TIDIOUTE

has to be right. The second word is not AND. The fouth word is not PARTIES. The fifth word is not NEAR.

Am I getting warmer?

You were closer the first time.
OK take a closer look at your first guess.
You have 3 words right (one needs to be singular) and two of the wrong words contain the letters of the right words. In other words the right word can be formed from the word you guessed.
