I didn't want to do it, I had to do it. Don't ya see, I was forced into it. Maybe my favorite knife, at least favorite that I cut with, some I don't use, but my dear Viper here somehow managed to vibrate/jump off the knife shelf and below it was a shelf with the kids rock collection. Tip of the Wharncliffe hit a rock they picked up somewhere and broke about 1/8 in. off the end. Almost useless. It was beautiful, and I loved it. But it made my stomach queasy even thinking about having a grinder near it. That's how blades can get ruined. But what else could I do, I couldn't put it away, never wanted to quit carrying until they pry it from my cold dead, clutching fingers, and then I'm putting in my will to bury a few of my favorites with me. So I'm not going to give it up, no way. So I did the ugly deed and grinded off part of my beloved's body parts and felt sick the whole time and still hurts when I look at it. Have no appetite, no interest in other knives right now. Hurts too much to look at it, but I can't leave it alone, got to try every thing I can to nurse it back to health and wholeness, give it a little more TLC than usual while recovering. But hey, at least now it can still ride with me and I can use it and it will still do about anything it would the old way. Just cosmetic I guess, just scarred. It will heal and get better and eventually I won't notice anymore. I hope.

Ivory thats why we buy'em Toungueriver,thanx the peachseed scales are the best,that whittler is an 804 one of my favorites.Probably the most versitle knife I own

The scout woodworking leader has been there all summer doing this job. He's paid staff, did it last summer too. He's an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, multiple palms, passed all the leader training courses, supposed to know his stuff. But he's a non wood carver teaching wood carving. We pay money for this. When I was a kid we actually carved stuff and they taught us how. We got our hands dirty and bloody. These kids hear lectures and stories about it but they don't actually do it.

No doubt avoiding the possibility of a lawsuit because a kid was cut with a knife.

New tip on the old Viper after a bad break. Great knife, one of my favorite if not the favorite from GEC of my users. Cuts today all by the Viper. Northwoods Willamette Whittler is drool material.
