For some reason I can't resist these when they're selling "cheap". Buck Slimline 721 (Walmart exclusive). I already have all three colors and then I picked up another Gray one. Then along came an Orange one still in the package. Frogs.

They are a very nice knife IMHO. I currently have 9 and had nearly a dozen at one time but have traded them off and given some away. Trying to spread the word.

In addition to being very reasonably priced, (earlier this afternoon, there was and may still be an orange Spitfire on eBay for $25 BIN with Free Shipping) they're made in the USA.

Got this 303 recently in a VA antique shop. Tough little bugger to get an edge on for sure. I'll carry it once there tho.

Steve, nice old 303 (Camillus era - excellent quality), perfect carry knife. I find ceramic sticks to be just the thing for sharpening Buck stainless steel. OH

I bought this NOS Buck 302 Solitaire today at a hunting supply store near Jacksonville NC; this one was made with the smooth yellow Delrin handles in 2010. OH

Good score, that is one of the harder to find Camillus-made 300 series, especially in smooth yellow. I am officially green with envy! If they have any of those NOS left I'd go back & grab 'em if I were you.

It was either a Buck 309 or Buck 305, but I think a 309 (I didn't have them pull it out as I don't use knives that small very often). I love the saber grind and the slanted bolsters. Colonel, is it also concave ground. It kind of looks like it from the picture. If it is, that would just be the icing on the cake.

Let me back up a minute. I looked more closely at the blade, and now believe it to be a Buck-made knife, sorry for the mis-identification of it's origins. Camillus 300's had a totally different blade profile and nail nick, and are pre-date code, (most of them at least). However, that being said, it still is a harder-to-find model. I'm questing to obtain a full set of Camillus-made 300's, so other than it's status as a "NOS", which certainly makes it collectible, it actually isn't down my alley so to speak. I'm still envious though, nice knife.

Jerry, yes - it does have a concave grind (not as deep as the old 100 series had). The Clip blade is identical to the main Clip blade on the current Buck 301. OH

Thanks, I just jumped the gun a little. If you look at the blade on the #303 pictured in an earlier post above, (Camillus-made), with the blade on your new #302 you can see the differences in the swedge, nail nick, grind, etc, etc. That #303 is typical of Camillus-made knives, though '67-'72 Schrade-made blades are similar, (but not exactly the same). I shoulda looked closer, but I got a case of "Buck" fever momentarily when I first saw it and read "NOS".

I got a Bucktool this week. I sort of collect multi-tools if they aren't cheap imports.
This is a good solid tool!
Does anyone know when these were made or any of the back story behind the Bucktool?

You guys got excited......the old yellow ones will have 'sawcut' scales and the knife,bolt and hammer escutcheon on the front. The "Rare", and I mean really rare ones, will have BUCK on the shield and will have 425m steel in the blades. Both were mainly sold by Smokey Mountain Knife Works in their catalog (late 80's)..... they are shown in the catalog in all four sizes but all I have ever managed to find is one......I have given up, but good luck to you........I will try to find out who the Bucktool person is.......300

Dale I have a Buck-tool 360 I rotate for work My research came up with Splane design, and in 1996 was knife of the year I asume multi tool. I just got mine back from mother Buck with a new main blade they found in there warehouse

Dale, those Buck's are nice multi-tools. I remember seeing them for sale, but already having a Leatherman I didn't buy one. I'd like to know more about there history too. OH
