This is my only offering to the European forum thus far (asside from some SAK's and Henkles kitchen knives). The Buck 510 is in the pic for scale.

The knife is a Kopromed that is marked "Hand Made - Stainless". Dimensions are:
Blade - 4 1/16" tip-to-guard 1 1/4" H
Handle - 4 3/4" including brass guard
Thickness - 5/32"
Handle - stag with hollow brass pins w/stainless inserts, Copper lanyard/thong tube.
Full tang, hollow ground with mirror finished blade.
I believe it is similar to 440 but can't find anything to confirm.

The knife was a gift from a very good friend of mine. He spent a lot of his life in a monastery on his way to becoming a Catholic priest (it never happened. He ended up retiring from GM). He brought this back from one of his many trips/vacations to Poland. He is getting up in years and his health isn't what it used to be so he offered it to me. Yeah, he knows I'm a knife nut.

I hope you bought the knife from him.

I not know much about the knife but it sounds like you know lots about him. Do to your friendship I am sure he wants you to end up with her.
I feel he is not wanting to make a profit on selling her to you.
She looks very well built and for the time you two have left BUY her.

Thanks guys. justold, I'm way ahead of ya. He wouldn't take any cash (other than the traditional coin). When we're both at the club (K of C) he usually gets a drink or two on me.
