Nice Producer (I have versions by Schrade and KaBar, but no Camillus 69 - yet!)

Mitch, don't fall in the river - with all that weight you will go down, down, down - but of course you will be doing it in style!

Carrying Lyle's famous Lick Creek pocketknife today - man is it ever nice to open the blade with by pinching with your fingers when your nails don't want to cooperate - break, break, break. OH

A friend dropped this off today. Said he thought he heard I was into knives. Don't know where that notion came from. So he gave me this and after removing some rust from the tang it reads: Hammer Brand USA. Never heard of it. Any of you knife aficionados know how old this one is? Thanks if you have any ideas, much appreciate it.

Love that old Case in the one picture Junebug, how come it didn't make the other photos? Sweet looking for sure. Nice GEC too. Sorry to hear about Case XX, what did they say to ruin your wheaties?

Hammer Brand was a mark of the New York Knife Company, but later was a mark (ca. 1936) of Imperial in Providence RI where it was used on cheaply made (gas station) knives. Not sure about any details on your Hammer Brand Scout. OH

That tang stamp was used 1945-1955, or there abouts.

Jerry, have you ever seen a pair of Mormon missionaries? They all go by the term "Elder" so and so. Means they know their stuff and spread the word. They are all about 18-25 years. Kind of what I meant. I have no idea what age you are and didn't mean to comment on it. Or offend anyone.

Mitch...if it's only dust, there's nothing to worry about...it's the moist stuff that's more of a concern. But, your point is well-taken...we all know Jerry used to call Methuselah "Junior" so that should give you a pretty good indication of his age right there!

Learned my beloved Northwoods were made by GEC and figured I would try them. Guessed they would be made about the same way and were about $50 less. Turned out this is right up there with Northwoods quality, and beautiful, and thin, light and great grip. Love the jigging, the bone, the acorn, the blade, the lanyard tube, bare head and it gets carried and used. Cut and Drool all in one. Highly recommend Vipers for all. 2014 Amber Bone Wharncliffe SS 470114. Excellent.
