Case Tested Beauty

Other than seeing this knife comes from the House of Integrity in KY what else about it is wrong? I've never seen an old Case knife with this kind of handle material but that doesn't mean much. Is any part of this knife straight?

No part of the knife is Case. I believe that it started out as a Queen.

I agree with Steve. Case never made a pattern that looks like this knife. Although Case did use Winterbottom Bone on some Tested era knives they are very rare.

One of the things that counterfeiters often do when hafting a knife is to leave the handle material too thick and then have to remove excess material to get the handles even with the bolsters. You don't' see many older factory made knives with the handles cut to the bolsters like they are on this knife.

It also appears that the back spring sits out from the frame with the blades closed. Bad sign.

Bolsters look excessively rounded. Also a bad sign.

Take into account who is selling the knife. Real bad sign.

Thanks, guys, I saw the OP knife when it went on and instantly knew it was fake. Thanks Bob for posting it and to Steve and Wayne for pointing out the faults of the knife. Seems this seller shows up here a lot.

I don't believe the OP knife sold, looks like he relisted it.

Big homer, hard to say if any are legit as the pictures really show no close ups of the tang stamps. Probably a reason for that.

Seller currently has 8 knives for sale and 5 are certainly cobbled fakes. I am not familiar with the Hanson Cutlery Bowie he is selling but I suspect this is a cheap import knife. The handles are imitation stag, not "beautiful thick stag handles" as he describes them. That would leave 2 of the eight knives listed to actually be what he claims they are.

When a seller does business in this manner I really don't care if he is selling a legitimate knife. I prefer to not willingly put my money in a crooks pocket.

I would never buy from him either because he appears to be a little shady , But I'm also frugal and there's nothing he has that I'm willing to afford. ( think tight a$$ ). I am amazed that people will pay those prices without some expert advice. He's got a 100% feedback , daddy always told me a fool and his money is soon parted.I think you are right olderdogs1,but as prolific as he is he may be turning them out left and right. By the way those are some fine knives you posted, I love that bone.
