I have a R4563 that my grandmother gave me after my grandfather passed away years ago. It is in pretty rough shape but I want to try my hand at restoring so I can carry it. The main (long) blade is broken in half. Are there any sources for replacement blades out there ? Curious as to how these bolsters come apart as well. Any help would be great.
Thanks

I can't help you with the repair. One of the mechanics will be along to answer your question. In the meantime, welcome to AAPK.

Welcome to AAPK!
There is a forum for "Knife Repair and Restoration" if you scroll down a little further in the forums section. You will have much better luck there, probably be wise to peruse some of the older topics for information.

Re: R4563 resto help
I would suggest working on a few low value knives before tearing into this one. That will make a nice knife if it's professional restored. The scales can be replaced with similarly jigged and dyed bone.
You might keep an eye on Ebay for another R4563 to salvage a main blade from.
