Restamped 6392....

Post by SteelMyHeart85420 »

So, eBay got me...bought a mid-70's Case 6392 advertised as "Near Mint, Never Sharpened" blah, blah, yadda, yadda.... it's actually a clean looking knife, except it's obviously been restamped with what looks like the same year type after a probable heavy buff. I suppose much of any collector value has been buffed away, but hoping it'll still be a good user. Keeping it for EDC which is what I bought it for at the price I paid, still was a bit disappointed with the re-do. Just sharing my day, thanks for looking, and feel free to tell me I did good, or not, as the case may be.

Nice looking knife! could it possibly be an over stamp? Just wondering where they someone would get such a correct stamp from? Great user regardless!

I would venture to say that the knife is fine and the re stamping was done before it left the factory, not all that uncommon. Looks like a nice knife to me. ::tu::

I very much appreciate that info, I'm new to hoarding- I mean collecting- Case knives, and was unaware that's a not-uncommon thing. I liked it before, we're gonna be good friends now

Yes, that knife is fine. Re-stamps and over stamps are fairly common. I think it adds interest and sets it apart from others.
