Remington Scout Knife

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Remington Scout Knife

Post by just bob »

Thought I would go ahead and post this over here in case some missed it in the counterfeit forum. I've been given some good information on this by Scoutknives and Wazu013, but nothing certain yet.

I don't really know why some are posting pictures of their Remington knives for this thread? The pictures or the comments left have noting to do with the original post. Maybe start a new thread if you just want to show off your knives?

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this information and pictures. The fact that people will go out of their way to help others is what makes this we site so great. Now that I know that this is a straight knife I plan to give it to a friend of mine in KY that is a big Remington knife man. He doesn't use the Internet an had never heard of this knife with the imitation stag handles. He would walk a mile in the snow barefoot to help a stranger so I guess Karma will catch up a bit with him.

Really interesting old knife. I thought I'd looked at a lot of Remington scout knives but I've never seen one with the imitation stag handles either.

I too own couple Remington Scout knives with the black stag handles. I can post a pic if it helps.
