Olsen fixed blade with sheath

Post by unkabob »

Greetings all! I found this beauty recently and since it's a new name to me, I'd appreciate sny info that will educate me on it. 8-5/8' long...3-15/16" blade...full tang. 7.3 ounces on my digital psotal scale. Handle is a nice wood...maybe cherry? Handle portion of tang has some pits that I won't try to smooth because I don't want to damage the wood. Thanks...Bob

Goin's book lists Olsen as c. 1970-1980 in Howard City Michigan. Your knife has laminated pakkawood (a manufactured product) handles. Nice looking example!

:) Bob, values are all over the place but a range of 35-150 is about what they bring, if it hasn't been miss treated. Nice old knives. Terry ::tu::

A lot of the Olsen knives were made in Germany and are of very good quality. Here are 4 that I picked up at an auto swap meet several years ago for $60 for all. Background is 1" squares. All have sheathes too.
